About Junko Kemi

I created kay me based on my own experiences. As a management consultant, I often worked long hours, sometimes with only 90 minutes of sleep before heading back to the office. On top of the physical exhaustion, I struggled with stiff, uncomfortable suits. During business trips, I would change from a jacket to a cardigan on the train just to relieve my aching shoulders. Women spend countless hours deciding what to wear, dry cleaning, and recovering from the physical strain of tight, uncomfortable clothing. In fact, over the course of 20 years, we spend 288 hours deciding clothes, 360 hours dry cleaning, and 1080 hours managing our tired bodies. In search of something more comfortable, I discovered jersey fabric—flexible, stylish, and professional when paired with a jacket. This fabric became the foundation of kay me dresses. Now, kay me empowers thousands of professional women across fields like corporate, government, finance, legal, medical, education, and consulting; unleashing them from the stress that comes with professional attire. We operate in Tokyo and London, with five stores and online shops offering international shipping. We recently launched a new shop in Orchard Takashimaya, Singapore, in November 2024.
