About Jussi Nikander

I'm a researcher with a degree of Doctor of Science (in technology). My two fields of expertise are computer science and geoinformatics. On the computer science side I have worked mostly on projects related to various software systems, and I have also experience in databases, network infrastructure, and such. Examples of what I have worked on include learning environments, monitoring systems, and custom analysis software. On the geoinformatics side, I have worked on the use and analysis of spatial data in various forms and contexts. Examples of applications I have worked with include vehicle mobility, urban planning, disaster management, and decision support. I have done extensive work on computer science education, and still retain an interest on improving teaching. I have several years of teaching experience at university level, mostly on various topics related to algorithms and advanced spatial computation.
