About Justin Baumann

I hope to share my passion for instruction, innovative approach, and extensive audio engineering skills with anyone looking to build their knowledge and foundation in audio engineering. As the production coordinator at The Orange Peel, I lead, educate, and train the house production crew and interns. My career started here at The OP as an intern while attending UNCA and grew into a strong, lifelong relationship with music, sound, and production. After graduating from UNCA with my Bachelor’s in Music Technology I took it to the road with Ernie Ball, touring around the country and the world. Then an awesome opportunity with State Radio (the band) continued to expand my experiences. Between all of my years on the road I’ve worked in 14 countries and countless cities across the US. After my touring years came to a close, I enrolled at UNC Wilmington's Watson College of Education to formalize my technical instruction by earning an MS in Instructional Technology. With the formal skills, years of experience, and technical knowledge, I returned to Asheville and the Orange Peel family to during the re-opening in the summer of 2021. It was amazing to get back to it after the music industry was devastated with pandemic restrictions/closures. Since returning, I have trained the next generation of audio engineers and concert production pros at our two downtown Asheville venues.
