About Justin Boyle

Currently enjoying a new challenge developing Safe Systems of Work across emerging technologies and geographies. For the previous 4 years I have run a small team focused on Lean projects, QMS and Safe Systems of Work. From 2012 to 2016 my team and I were instrumental in the developing in-house maintenance capability for SSE. Previous to this I worked as a Service Support Engineer for SSE and implemented the WTSR across the SSE Wind fleet of over 1 GW. My background is Mechanical although my Degree is Electro Mechanical and I am an SAP. I am the Authorising Officer for SSE as well as an AT and AE for Siemens Turbines under the WTSR. Previously within SSE I managed the largest onshore wind farm in ROI for around 6 years.(Achieving 98% Availability) I have a 1 year National Certificate in Health and Safety In 2009 I achieved a First in a Degree in Mechatronics followed in 2012 by an MSc in Energy Management again with a 1st Class Honours grade. 2022 saw me gain a First in a Business Degree. Good working knowledge of MS Office products. I represent the company at BWEA and IWEA safety forums. Specialties: Wind Turbine Safety Rules, Competence Development and Coaching.
