About Justin Carpenter

I'm getting comfortable with being uncomfortable, I enjoy trying new things and have a passion for constantly learning. Ever since I was young I had a dream of being a musician, crafting intricate melodies, appealing to a focused audience, and delivering a unique product. This dream created a deep desire to learn and create in many forms. In middle school I joined theater and developed a passion for evoking emotions through a medium. In high school I joined an improv troupe to continue this idea of learning through the arts. One of the key lessons from my journey into improv was that the greatest achievements in life happen when you are willing to be uncomfortable. This was my turning point, I wanted to be uncomfortable constantly. That's where coding came into the picture. I found this amazing world where learning was never ending and uncomfortable was the new normal. I was hooked, after several javascript tutorials and css static websites I knew this was my true dream. The coding experience appeals to me, from the creativity and branding of the frontend to the logic driven gears of the backend. I love front end design and branding, the ability to convey complex messages even without words is fascinating to me. I love just going over how an application flows, how it’ll interact with the user, how the backend can support all those actions, it’s as satisfying as a well oiled machine. My strengths include a desire and drive for lifelong learning, adapting to new programming languages, working in unison with others, and problem solving. I'm well versed in javascript, bootstrap, html, css, node.js, express, mongodb, and the vue and mvc frameworks. I have a great deal of experience working with others and learning how to dynamically create a product together from my time in improv as well as all the programs I have been able to create in a team environment. There is always more to learn and I'm so delighted to be uncomfortable and grow with code everyday.
