About Justin Chaljub
I am interested in sports business and law. I am naturally curious, learn quickly, and work well in collaborative environments. My diverse background in business, policy research, and marketing strategy adds value across multiple disciplines. As an undergraduate at UChicago, I wrote my honors thesis on the Rooney Rules policy's impact on coaching diversity in the National Football League (NFL). With a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach, I conducted three novel comparisons to conclude with a policy recommendation that the NFL ultimately adopted in 2021. This experience inspired me to explore other evolving sports policy issues, leading to nearly 100 conversations with sports executives and lawyers. Further, my thesis is a top Google search result for "Rooney Rule Research", and was cited in a recent December 2022 publication by The International Sports Law Journal.
