Justin is a data engineer, data scientist and data architect who is passionate about delivering business value and actionable insights through well architected data products. His current drive is to operationalize data science and machine learning to unleash the true power of data. He is a believer of small wins, continuous improvements, process automation, team collaboration and life-long learning. Justin is never limited to his job title. You may see him one day focusing on designing a data warehouse with star schema, another day writing C# Azure functions calling APIs and web services to move data in real time; one day implementing an ETL data pipeline with Azure Data Factory and Azure DataBricks, another day wrangling data in a relational database with complex SQL; one day doing exploratory data analysis (EDA) with R and ggplot2, another day helping IT team automate a process involving active directory with PowerShell scripts. From time to time, he may participate in a Kaggle competition and work on a machine learning model with XGBoost or TensorFlow, burning the night oil on feature engineering to squeeze out one more 0.01% improvement on performance metrics.
