The Beginning Couriersdepot.com was born through adversity during the Pandemic. My job in aviation was in jeopardy, my wages cut, my livelihood threatened. After applying for some seventy driving jobs, I became a Courier, delivering parcels by car instead of people by jet! For two years I ‘pounded the rounds’ in the snow, rain and heat of two summers, delivering up to 160 parcels a day, 70K steps a week - staying fit was delivering to the relentless ETA’s. I learnt that Couriers need specific kit - phone battery cases for back-up, waterproof running shoes, LED Beanies for searching house numbers, over-trousers & phone reading gloves. And then it clicked - if I needed this kit, every other courier in the UK did… Bang - Couriersdepot.com was born. Early Development Initially, Couriersdepot.com sourced products for couriers via an Amazon Associate account. We did product videos testing shoes, boots & LED caps; practical guides such as 'How to Load your Van' & 'Plan your Route’ & tech product advice. The Business Grew Pandemic over, and flying restored, we teamed up with a training company to provide essential, business risk mitigating online courses in Manual Handling (a legal requirement as an employer of goods handlers, and tax deductible at that…) & First Aid, with other training materials available through our multiple award-winning partner. Following this, Fuel Cards averaging a 15-20ppl saving, along with EV charging, tyre & vehicle services. Also, groundbreaking Last-Mile Software that directs drivers to the front door. We’re now Introducers to a radical commercial insurance company that can provide Fleet Insurance cover with savings of between 20 & 30% from vans to HGV’s. Employing AI automation, & data science to offer policies optimised for the needs of fleet managers. Also, they adopt total transparency in their communications with insurer’s, from phone calls/emails, & disclosure of income. The Future 2024 sees the onboarding of an award winning telematics & tracking firm, a bespoke AI driven software development firm, a unique ‘Last Mile’ delivery software house & follow up discussions with ground breaking startups from across the globe. We’re carving out our own unique niche, presenting our partners with multiple cross-marketing synergies that’s becoming a self sustaining ecosystem. Most excitingly though, we’ve partnered with an international mobility charity, providing wheelchairs in developing countries. We hope to join them on a trip to Rwanda in October.
