Being in the startup space for more than 15 years, I have been a part of delivering cloud, security, and data technologies across a host of different industries including- Healthcare - Digital Real-Estate - Scientific Research and Development - Online Education - Non-Profits - B2B - Analytics and Data Strategy - Automotive - Travel - Luxury - Cosmetics - Consumer Packaged Goods - and many more During this time I have learned there are 3 ingredients needed for success: 1. Great People 2. Great Technology 3. Great Processes All 3 work together to reinforce each other, and achieving 1 attracts the others. Humans and machines are stronger together than individually, and our processes are how we work together, so inviting input from all participants allows emergence to take place (feedback from humans + data from machines). In this spirit, here are my skills and how they have evolved over time- Network Administration and Security -> DevSecOps -> DataSecOps - Virtual Cloud Platforms -> Serverless Platforms -> Decentralized Platforms - Quantitative Data Science -> Machine Learning -> Artificial Intelligence - Qualitative Data Science -> Sentiment Analysis -> Game Theory The promises that were made about the changes the cloud intended to bring are only now being fulfilled 20 years later, so continue to evaluate technology with open eyes since adopting software creates a relationship with it that goes both ways. There is always profit where value is being created, and it's not enough for software to just work, it should feel good to use too. Polish matters, and technology should make life for people genuinely better. Very few are truly adapted to the constantly changes realities of the Information Age, so as we go through it together, I try to hold on to this thought:"Technology should work for us, we should not work for our technology."
