About Justin Edwards

With over 18 years of experience in laboratory diagnostics, quality assurance, and public health preparedness, I am a senior biodefense preparedness project specialist at LMI, a leading management consulting firm that serves the federal government. I have an active DOD Secret/DHS suitability clearance and a Laboratory Quality Management Systems certificate from CLSI. In my current role, I provide subject matter expertise and technical support for the DHS CWMD BioWatch Program, a nationwide biosurveillance system that detects and responds to biological threats. I pioneered the establishment of the Special Events Workgroup, facilitated collaboration among federal, state, and local stakeholders and partners, and developed systems-level concepts and stakeholder engagement plans for biodefense preparedness. I also supported the client in the successful coordination and management of multiple complex tasks in response to the DHS CWMD Assistant Secretary’s memo directing modernization of DHS biodetection capabilities. My mission is to enhance the security and resilience of the nation by applying my skills and knowledge in biotechnology, leadership, and project coordination.
