About Justin Grennell

I am a postdoctoral researcher at UT Southwestern Medical Center with a Ph.D. in Bioanalytical Chemistry from Louisiana State University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana. My work bridges analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and immunology, with a focus on understanding cytokine signaling, inflammation, and metabolic disease. I bring hands-on expertise in protein expression, purification, and characterization using techniques such as FPLC/AKTA, HPLC/UHPLC, LC-MS, NMR, and capillary electrophoresis. My research also extends into in vivo and in vitro models of immune regulation, including cytokine injections in mouse models, antibody neutralization assays, and CRISPR/Cas9 knockouts. These projects have strengthened my ability to lead hypothesis-driven, translational research while collaborating with cross-functional teams across academia and industry. Looking ahead, I am passionate about applying my skills to drug development in immunology and inflammation, particularly in large molecule therapeutics and immune modulation strategies. I thrive in collaborative, innovative environments where I can translate fundamental discoveries into therapies that improve patient outcomes.
