About Justin Horowitz

An award-nominated filmmaker, educator, and parallel parking champion (hoping he doesn't jinx this), Justin Horowitz is not simply a one-size-fits-all kind of guy. His experience is far-ranging, covering everything from high-end film & television development to supporting Los Angeles' youth. He even has some background in improv, which makes him kind of an LA cliché. Most importantly, he is a storyteller. A recent Screenwriting graduate from AFI Conservatory, his screenplays have been selected as finalists in competitions from Roadmap, ScreenCraft, Final Draft, Slamdance, Launch Pad, and the PAGE Awards. In addition, he has written, directed, produced, and edited several short films, including the film YOU CRACK ME UP, which premiered at the Los Angeles Lift Off Film Festival. He is fascinated with messy characters, struggling with self-acceptance (i.e. he would love to write on THE BEAR someday). When he's not working on his own material, Justin is helping others craft their own stories. Whether it's copy editing an Instagram post showcasing client work or developing a produced feature with a writer/director duo, he knows how to help you tell your own story. He has years of experience working closely with established actors & filmmakers, always sensitive to their needs, but never one to lose sight of the bigger picture. However, he's most proud of his work as a tutor at LAUSD, where he helped second graders learn how to read. When he's not doing all of the above, he can be heard laughing loudly at something on screen in any movie theatre in Los Angeles, or seen searching for a good LA bagel that's not cartoonishly over-priced.
