About Justin Iserhardt

Justin Iserhardt is a graduate of University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering. He gained experience in the design and construction of yachts from some of the world’s top shipyards while working at Murray & Associates in Ft. Lauderdale, a design firm specializing in refits and new construction of yachts and commercial vessels.As a Senior Engineer at ABS, Justin managed the group that reviews yacht structures for ABS’s North American clients. In addition to aluminum and steel, he has also specialized in the review of FRP and wood structures to ABS rules. He was also instrumental in revising the December 2014 ABS Guide for Building and Classing Yachts. Additional reviews also encompass stability and statutory requirements.With United Maritime Survey, Justin provides technical consultancy services as well as statutory approvals for compliance with the Yacht Code for yachts that are not classed with a Classification Society (such as ABS or Lloyd's Register). Duties routinely include stability analysis, fire safety measures, structural enhancements or modifications and compliance with Load Line conditions of assignment.At his position with Lloyd's Register, Justin was the head contact for North American yachting clients and management houses for all levels of inquiries related to Lloyd's Register Classification, statutory certification and operational support. He also planned, reviewed, and managed the statutory aspects of vessel construction, arrangement, and outfit, with a primary focus on stability compliance, and fire and safety systems.Justin spent his childhood living aboard a 40ft sailboat in the Caribbean and Southern US and sailed competitively through high school and college while also teaching sailing at the local yacht clubs.
