About Justin Kay

I’m passionate about social impact, and helping funders achieve the greatest good through philanthropy. From the time I was 16 years old, I’ve worked to make an impact in the communities where I have lived through nonprofit initiatives and public service. After losing one of my best childhood friends to suicide at sixteen, I got into leadership through the creation of a nonprofit organization, umttr (You Matter), that memorialized him and aimed to change our community’s perspective regarding mental health and preventing suicide. Creating this movement and remembering my friend started my passion for public service and inspiring change. My drive for serving others and communities has grown from working in program coordination, community engagement, event management, and fundraising to working behind the scenes with Fortune 500 companies and other large corporations to define their philanthropic strategies and maximize their resources to impact the most pressing issue areas facing society. Prior to joining Tides, I worked as a program associate with Arabella Advisors where I managed a portfolio of fiscally sponsored nonprofit clients.
