Working as a Security Officer at the Scarborough Town Centre for over nine years has allowed me to gain a lot of experience when dealing with the public. My duties include, assisting with the safe and orderly flow of pedestrian traffic coming into and out of the mall. Being employed at Scarborough Town Centre as a part-time Security Officer and a Full-time Corporate Security Guard for the City Of Toronto, I have become familiar with the various available tools and methods. I am required to enforce mall rules and policies by determining violations of multiple acts and private property by-laws so that I may obtain and ensure the compliance of tenants and the general public with property rules and regulations. I tend to tenant and customer complaints in a customer service effective manner to diffuse and deter situations from escalating. I follow enforcement actions when issuing tenant infraction notices for various tenant violations. My rotating schedules allow me to perform not only patrol and enforcement duties but also work required of a dispatcher, where I can further familiarize myself and utilize various software applications. At the end of every shift, I complete detailed incident reports with attention and emphasis on accuracy and fact. I am also highly regarded be very enthusiastic when it comes to my jobs which my managers and peers well know. I believe this exposure will prove to be a valuable tool I can use within your team to conduct my duties. Being in a fast-paced environment and dealing daily with a diverse community has allowed me to develop my ability to communicate courteously and professionally. I can organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. This experience combined with my education and readiness to work independently and as a team member.
