About Justin Okerman

I began my post-secondary education at the University of Alberta, where I graduated with a B.Sc, majoring in biological sciences and with an English minor. During my studies at the U of A, I worked as a research assistant, examining the oncolytic virology of reovirus. I then obtained a Bachelor of Environmental Health from what is now Concordia University of Edmonton, which allowed me to practice as a Public Health Inspector, first in British Columbia, and then in Saskatchewan, for a total of four years. I then returned to school to pursue a career in Law. I completed my JD at the University of Saskatchewan, where I had the opportunity to spend my second year on academic exchange to the University of Oslo. During my time in Norway, I competed in two international moot competitions, one of which our team won. Towards the end of my exchange, I was admitted to the University of Oslo's Information Communication and Technology LL.M. program, which I completed concurrently with my third year of my JD. I then returned home to Alberta, where I articled with Dentons Canada LLP in Edmonton. Post-articles, I was hired back as an Associate in Litigation and Dispute Resolution. While I maintain a broad practice, I am always seeking opportunities to apply my experiences on files relating to healthcare providers, technology, and legislation.
