About Justin Rigby

Justin Rigby is a filmmaker with 20 years of experience creating and producing original film and video content. Rigby founded Studio Matter in 2014 in New York with producer and longtime collaborator, Bonnie Choi, to pursue several film projects. As the creative director of Studio Matter, he has directed, written, and edited numerous brand films and other forms of digital marketing content in addition to continuing to develop original narrative feature film projects. Together with Choi, he coordinated and executed all logistics and on-site management for pre-production, production, and post-production for all Studio Matter projects. He also created and implemented Studio Matter’s business plan, marketing outreach strategies, and company administration. Studio Matter has worked with various clients such as Samsung, Perry Ellis, Caudalie, Lagos, Zazen Bear, ASPCA, and many more. Prior to founding Studio Matter, Rigby released his first feature film, EITHER | OR, which premiered in New York City in 2011. This film was an official selection to the 2012 Manhattan Film Festival and screened as part of the Lighthouse Film Festival Board Member Special Screening series. Rigby studied film theory and production at the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Film, Television, and Theater in 2005 and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
