About Justin Shebert

I am an educator in both Philosophy and Music. I have a passion for making both of these disciplines accessible to all people. I currently serve my community as a Guest Teacher for the Dublin Unified School District. I graduated from San Francisco State University with a Masters of Arts in philosophy. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. After graduating from SFSU I was hired as an Adjunct Lecturer for the Fall 2023 semester. I also served as one of the lead graduate teaching associates (GTA) in the philosophy department at SFSU. I taught undergraduate courses such as "Intro to Critical Thinking" and "Intro to Philosophy and the Arts". In addition to this my responsibilities as lead GTA included assisting other GTA's in developing their courses and teaching methods. I have over fifteen years of experience in music performance, four of which were with competitive percussion units in Winter Guard International (WGI). I have seven years of experience in music education. I was involved in the UC Berkeley Philosophy Forum at my time in Cal in which I served as an officer of the club. I have strong written and verbal communication skills, and critical thinking and analysis thanks to my experience from my undergraduate degree and graduate program. With my experience in music, I currently teach and manage the front ensemble at Dublin High School and Emerald High School for their marching band and percussion programs.
