About Justin Snyder

Over the last 17 years, I've worked in roles spanning anti-corruption, data analytics, compliance, risk management, and governance for a variety of mission-driven organizations in fast-paced, dynamic, international roles. In 2011, I moved to Indonesia with little more than a one-way ticket and a slim rolodex of contacts, and in just over ten years I came to lead USAID’s $10-million flagship anti-corruption program, managing a team of 16 and coordinating a consortium that included three other organizations. Together, my team and I mapped corruption vulnerabilities throughout government procurement and licensing processes, uncovered undeclared presidential campaign expenditures, defended public access to the beneficial ownership registry, and drafted a new conflict of interest regulation that has been enacted for Indonesia’s civil service of more than 4 million personnel. My career has brought me into the orbits of some truly amazing people - from civil society activists to world-class academics, hard-charging journalists, leading foreign government officials and international donors. My curiosity, adaptability, and openness to learning new things, has helped me build some truly amazing relationships with one-of-a-kind people, who share a common drive toward tackling big societal challenges. I've always been drawn to solving puzzles, developing solutions, and turning data into value-added insights. This has led me to teach myself Tableau, and Neo4j, earning certifications in both. I have applied my Tableau skills in a variety of use cases – from the routine tracking of project finances, to more creative applications like supporting political redistricting efforts in Papua New Guinea. With Neo4j, I built a graph database application to identify potential conflicts of interest between Indonesian political donors and government contractors. In my down time, you'll find me watching a good political thriller, playing golf (poorly), or enjoying a dive on a tropical reef.
