About Justin Su
A former certified veterinary technician turned UX/UI Designer with a strong passion for problem-solving. With the skills that I have acquired throughout my 8 years working in the veterinary industry, I believe that my transferrable skills can help enrich people's lives by incorporating user-centered design thinking. Here's why I believe vet med and design are similar: Veterinary medicine is challenging because it's always a puzzle trying to figure out what is wrong with our patients. It is difficult since animals can't speak to us, so it's always detective work when we are trying to figure out what is wrong with them. Designers have to figure out what their users (clients in the veterinary world) want before solving the problem (patients in the veterinary world) by performing UX research (Diagnostic tests in the veterinary world). By making the switch, I hope to use what I've already learned from my past experience, to explore human interaction with every day technology. I believe a human-centered design is the product of passionate problem-solving and empathy. I get excited for opportunities that value teamwork and also allows me to make an impact in people's lives.
