Background
About Justine Backes
I graduated from UWRF in May 2019 with a dual major in Communications Studies and Printmaking (secondary emphasis in Drawing). I took some time off to manage my mental health, and, with a lot of hard work and the help of a therapist, I am finally ready to reenter the workforce. I have a strong desire to help people, especially in situations related to abuse or mental illness. My top qualities are empathy, kindness, and curiosity. I am a fast learner and willing to put forward the effort to excel in whatever field I end up in. In my spare time, I practice many forms of art (embroidery, drawing, painting, digital art) that help me stay grounded and mindful. I am also an avid reader, particularly of books that involve neuroscience and psychology. My ultimate short-term goal is to go to graduate school to become a certified art therapist.
