About Justine Dickhoff

I’m passionate about creating a healthier, happier world by connecting science and society through innovation. My main interests lie in mental health innovation and artificial intelligence. I enjoy being part of international academic networks and interdisciplinary projects, and I bring creativity, ambition, and a strong overview across different initiatives. Currently, I’m a project manager at the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium (NORA), where I lead the research school for 300 PhD students. I focus on helping them advance their careers by organizing scientific events such as summer schools, and by creating opportunities to strengthen soft skills like science communication. I also set up and coordinate initiatives in innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry, together with programs like NORA.startup. In addition, I work as a career coach for professionals in the public sector, with a particular focus on those working in academia and those who support them. As someone who enjoys bringing people together, and with a strong passion for both AI and mental health, I’m currently in the process of starting a community focused on AI & Mental Health. The goal is to connect researchers, industry professionals, and mental health experts to explore how AI and technological innovations can contribute to shaping the future of mental well-being. Please drop me a message, if this sounds interesting to you :) Before moving to Norway, I worked as a project manager at the University of Groningen and the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), where I was involved in several large-scale national (growth fund) projects. This included the national psychiatric research infrastructure project Psynapse, as well as the development of a research translation program for scientists (MIT Catalyst), in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I also worked as a researcher at the Cognitive Neuroscience Center at the UMCG, where I completed my PhD on protective and risk factors, as well as brain abnormalities, in individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and suicide attempts. I’m always happy to connect with others who share a passion for AI, mental health, and innovation in healthcare.
