About Justyna Witkowska

I'm a scientific researcher with a strong natural aptitude for critical thinking. Data science has become the connecting thread in my professional journey, combining my analytical strengths, passion for science, and dedication to data-driven decisions. With a focus on biomedical data, I’m committed to building impactful projects that turn high-quality data into smart and effective biomedical engineering solutions. I earned a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Warsaw University of Technology. With over seven years of experience on projects supported by Poland's National Science Centre and the National Centre for Research and Development, I have focused primarily on biomaterials. My doctoral research, Surface Modification of NiTi Shape Memory Alloy at Low-Temperature Plasma for Cardiological Implant Applications, received the Polish Materials Science Society’s award for Best Doctoral Thesis in 2019. I am also the author or co-author of over 20 peer-reviewed publications, with scientific interests centered on the biocompatibility of materials for medical applications. Following my PhD, I deepened my focus on data science, recognizing my core strength as an analytical thinker. Over the past three years as a Data Scientist, I have specialized in medical data analytics, particularly in MRI, metabolic blood analysis, and biomechanical data. Currently, I contribute to a startup focused on sports injury prevention, where we leverage data science & AI to enhance health optimization and promote sports longevity.
