I am a qualified Composite Broker (General, Life and Reinsurance) and Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India. I have in depth experience in every branch of general (non-life) insurance, having joined General Insurance Corporation of India in 1980 as a generalist officer, in an era when specialization and verticals had not narrowed one's area of operations. Vast experience in leadership roles as Head of Profit Centers / SBUs, having headed branches and divisions for 30 years in both Rural and Urban / Metro areas. 36 years in marketing. 45 years over all in the General Insurance Industry. I have expertise in the entire range of general insurance technical from property, casualty, liability, health, bonds and guarantees to reinsurance, Marketing, PR, Corporate Communications, Recruitment, HR and Administration, TPA and Insurance Broking. Experienced in working with Regulators, Brokers and Third Party Administrators in 7 different countries. Start up experience in setting up a General Insurance Company in Africa from the idea stage. Experienced Trainer in all branches of General Insurance Technical and Marketing from very early in my career. Evaluator for for Liability and RI papers for over 25 years. Mentor for PhD students in Insurance. Trained up MBA (Insurance) students of 3 Premier Management Institutions in India right from preparing the syllabus. Perhaps the only Senior Executive in the Indian, African and Middle East Insurance Markets with experience as CEO of General Insurance Companies, Head of Insurance for a large Diversified Corporate Group, an International Consultant for MNC Consultancy Firms, in Insurance Broking and in TPA.
