About Kacey Long

Kacey Long, MSW joined The Army of Survivors as the Director of Programs in 2022. She has worked in the field of sexual violence for over a decade, and she identifies as a queer survivor and former athlete. Her career in sexual violence has addressed systemic, familial, and individual needs related to interpersonal violence, child sexual abuse, and/or sexual violence. In the last ten years she has centered her labor on projects and development around Title IX policies, athlete advocacy, queer survivors, and how sociopolitical identities and policies impact survivors of sexual violence. Kacey has also served various state, local, and national nonprofits as an educator on culturally affirming and trauma responsive best practices and has served as an expert witness within court proceedings regarding sexual violence, child abuse, and the intersection of socially constructed identities. Prior to joining TAOS, she oversaw 16 child advocacy centers in the state of Georgia where she assisted nonprofits in technical assistance around child sexual exploitation responses. She has served as a member of Georgia’s Statewide Human Trafficking Task Force, and she has been a board member of several local nonprofits in the Southeast dedicated to ending sexual violence and addressing the needs of queer populations in the South. She founded and led the first queer affirming, all gender sports league for youth and adults in Northeast Georgia. Kacey holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan.
