About Kadijah Harris

I have a masters and bachelor’s degree in social work. I am currently working on completing my licensure. I have years of experience working as a foster care social worker, a family centered treatment clinician, and am currently working as an outpatient therapist. I desire to convey my love for children and families, and infuse my passion for uplifting my community with my profession in order to truly make a difference. Families of color are disproportionately represented in the child welfare system. Also, historically the Black and African American experience in America continues to be characterized by trauma, violence, dehumanization, oppression, and violence more often than for their White counterparts which impacts emotional and mental health of both youth and adults. Ultimately, I aspire to make a difference in the lives of children and families of color in order to help heal that trauma.
