About Kahlen Knapik

Kahlen Knapik is currently employed by National Mortuary Shipping and Cremation and serves as Vice President and AIC Director. He holds associate’s degrees in engineering and mortuary science,a bachelor’s degree in business, and is currently working on his MBA with a concentration in Business Analytics. Kahlen graduated from Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science graduating summa cum laude and awarded the Mu Sigma Alpha award. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and has his crematory operators permit in the State of Ohio. Kahlen began his career at NMS in 2001 and he has held many roles within the company working in both the local trade embalming and cremation departments, the shipping department and as a member of the senior leadership team. He has been essential in building and fostering partnerships with funeral industry professionals. As a licensed funeral director and embalmer, Kahlen brings a deep understanding of the industry to the team. He takes pride in the NMS tradition of helping hometown funeral directors around the world with out-of-town deaths. He is a member of many organizations such as OFDA, NFDA, CANA, OGR, ICCFA and FIAT/IFTA and serves as the Director-at-Large for the OFDA Board of Directors, the Ohio Convention Committee and on the Advisory Board for Kates-Boyelston. He has written numerous articles and presented CEU programs on shipping and cremation to different local, state and national funeral directors’ organizations and colleges.
