About Kahn Tasker

I am a current clinical psychology doctoral candidate (DClinPsy) and have completed clinical psychology training. I am working towards becoming a clinical-academic within the field of clinical psychology, and adjacent mental health-related areas. I currently work as a Professional Teaching Fellow in clinical psychology at the University of Auckland. My research interests encompass Asian mental health in NZ as well as emerging adulthood, youth mental health, and offending behavior. I also co-own and manage MyTuition, a high-school tutoring company that connects high school students with the right mentors and tutors. The heart of my interests and skills are in clinical psychology and the wider humanities. My primary goal is to be involved in work that facilitates and teaches psychological skills to practically help people live meaningful, fulfilling lives. My work in the mental health and education sector has imparted that theory and clinical practice must be paired with an attention to one's specific social context in order to have any impact. Overall, I am passionate about doing work that has a strong influence on psychological wellbeing and that provides awareness and insight for growth and change.
