About Kai Davis

I’m a recent graduate of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. My final year of the engineering program introduced me to a few topics that I am prepared to invest myself in for my career. Electrochemistry was one of those topics; several disciplines are nested in electrochemistry like energy storage, corrosion, and even water filtration. Each of these are incredibly important to the world and are disciplines that I am excited to continue to learn about in the future. Additionally, materials processing has also become a focus of mine, namely via a ceramic processing course, but materials processing has a lot to do with the manufacturing of materials and goods, and this is where many emissions are created. As an engineer in materials processing and manufacturing, there are several parts of a products life where I would be able to promote sustainability and reduce the emissions associated with making products. Of course, everyone has their motivations, mine are placed in making the world of tomorrow a better place and preserving the world we have today. I want to spend my time solving tomorrow’s problems but must practice and learn about them through today’s lens. My motivations will keep me passionate and invested in my work and invigorate me to continue to do what is necessary to make the world a better place one day at a time.
