About Kai Otomo

When I was 11 years old, I told myself “I will play baseball at Rice University”. This was right after I saw them play on ESPN. Well, this definitely didn’t go as planned. I was forced to move back to my home country Japan, and shortly after I quit the sport. My heart was broken, but my love for baseball never died down. While studying at an university in Japan, I decided to take my chance and study abroad at Rice University. And guess what? I worked as a Social Media Intern for their historic baseball team. My initial dream did not come true. But it became a reality in a different shape, and I found a new passion through this experience. I learned the importance of believe in yourself, pivoting if necessary, and just keep going. This experience at Rice also led me to start my TikTok account which I was able to build to 34k followers, eventually leading me to an internship at Nike Japan. I’ve recently graduated Keio University in Tokyo, Japan, and will start working full-time in April 2022 at Amazon Japan. As a former TikTok creator, I’m interested in content creation as well as brand marketing. My life mission is to help people break free from the social-programming to live the life they want.
