About Kai Simone

Kai Simone is a highly experienced and talented professional with a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the arts industry. She has excelled as a director, producer, musician, performer, radio personality, and educator, standing out for her dedication and unwavering passion for creativity. In 2012, Kai co-founded the Skai Academy of the Performing Arts in Milwaukee, a transformative venture alongside musical director Emmanuel Turner. This academy has positively impacted over students, offering workshops and performances that provide intense yet enjoyable learning experiences for aspiring youth from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Notably, the Skai Stage Band, composed of talented vocalists and instrumentalists aged 10-18 from various cultural backgrounds, has gained recognition and popularity in Milwaukee and Madison. Today, Kai continues to make a significant impact in Milwaukee as the Managing Director of Bel Canto Chorus, while also spreading the transformative power of music through her Skai Music programs in schools and community centers. Her partnerships enrich the lives of young learners through early childhood music and the Skai Music Arts program. She is the author of four musical stage plays. One, Imani and the Magic Drum (a Kwanzaa tale) she adapted into an animated series. She is an amazing songwriter and has been compared to Stevie Wonder when it comes to her songwriting innovation and style. She was chosen to participate in this year's Lullaby Project, with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute. She also contributes to the Discover Music, Discover Life, Inc. music education curriculum in Chicago by crafting captivating music lyrics. Beyond her artistic talents, Kai is known for her exceptional time management, reliability, and a continuous pursuit of knowledge and growth. Her independent nature empowers her to take initiative and successfully execute projects, while her proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite highlights her versatility in the digital age.
