About Kaia Ling

Passionate about the oceans and sharks in particular, I aim to work towards conserving and protecting the oceans and nature. While having a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Earth Systems Science provided me with a deep understanding of sustainability issues across different cultural contexts, my interests in both arts and sciences led me to explore different opportunities across the media, research, and startup areas, which built up my skills in content creation, data analysis, and market research within the sustainability scene. Having worked in consultancies and startups, I specialize in identifying gaps and developing science-based strategies and solutions that are innovative while considering holistic perspectives from various stakeholders. However, while being in the sustainability space, I realized that much of the work we do are not intuitive or easily digestible to most. Hence, outside of work, I enjoy translating science and news into content that is simple and engaging; I manage an Instagram page to raise awareness about shark conservation as a project started from the Sustainability Exchange program. I love gaining new perspectives from people from all walks of life, so feel free to connect!
