My Work As An Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) Professional:"The greatest distance between two people is misunderstanding." While in law school, I successfully helped resolve dozens of disputes initially filed in the Small Claims Court in Porter County, Indiana. This required the ability to be an active and caring listener to both parties, review the evidence, and facilitate a resolution that satisfies both parties. Additionally, I trained to arbitrate and negotiate labor and employment disputes per the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). My Work In The Health Benefit Plan (Health Insurance) Industry: Health insurance involves two very important aspects of a person's life: their health and their pocketbook. My work with Allegiance requires an in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry and compliance laws regarding the right to appeal post-service claims and pre-service requests. Each month, I review hundreds of appeals; this requires intensive document review and analysis, all with timely execution. Claims are reviewed for accuracy of processing according to the terms and conditions of the Plan Document. Additionally, services and billing practices are reviewed for fraud on the part of the provider. I have also specialized in health care fraud, abuse, and waste by evaluating coding practices of providers. My Work In Real Estate As An Entrepreneur: I founded my own transaction coordination company, Signature Transactions Services, during the pandemic. As founder and director, I worked in every part of my business: marketing, accounting, networking, and of course, real estate document transactions. The company motto was that every transaction is as unique as a signature, and thus each transaction required special attention. With this attitude, I cultivated a small group of realtors and helped them close their real estate transactions during the busy real estate boom. I supervised dozens of transactions and ensured each one was completed successfully. I ran this company for three years before it became too much (too successful!) for me to handle, and ultimately I decided to close the business rather than take on additional help.
