About Kaiser Hamid

I am working as a Senior Technical officer at University of Sydney since January 2023. Over the past years, I have explored myself in the pharmaceutical industries in Australia & overseas with experience in research and academia at tertiary level. I am an experienced teaching & research professional and currently leveraging my skills in laboratory management, research facility management and managing research & teaching support. I have completed my PhD from Faculty of Pharmacy, the University of Sydney where my research was on natural products drug discovery. In particular, I was involved in the bio-assay guided isolation of compounds from medicinal plants, synthesizing analogues of active compounds and testing them in different GABAA receptors, expressed in Xenopus oocytes using two electrode voltage clamp technique. Before my enrolment in PhD, I have completed my Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and M.S. in Pharmaceutical Science from Jahangirnagar University, one of the renowned public Universities of Bangladesh. In Masters program, I worked on the toxicological effects of an Ayurvedic formulation on laboratory rodents. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I worked in the Product Management Department of Eskayef Bangladesh Limited (an MHRA and TGA approved Pharmaceutical Company) for 2.5 years and after finishing my Masters, I moved to academia and worked as a Lecturer in Pharmacy department of two reputed private Universities of Bangladesh.Major Skills and Expertise:A.Chromatography: HPLC, LC-MS, TLC, Column chromatography, Flash column chromatography (Reveleris), Short column vacuum chromatographyB.
