About Kaitlin Brown

I have experience teaching elementary Physical Education K-5, and High School Physical Education and Health. I have developed Physical Education lesson plans. I participate in grade level curriculum and team meetings, and professional development sessions. I have organized multiple Jump Rope for Heart events, field day and other extra curricular activities. I am the lead representative for my schools S.O.A.R. Club. This club is a school-wide prevention program for students who are starting to engage in problem behaviors or need academic support throughout the day. Our goal is to provide positive intervention by creating meaningful interactions – it is not a punishment or consequence of misbehavior – but rather a chance for the students to achieve success by getting feedback from the teachers about what he/she did well and what can be improved upon the next day. I am the creator of my schools Big Buddy, Little Buddy program. Little Buddies are students in grades kindergarten thru third grade who are referred by teachers, counselors, parents or themselves. They need companionship, guidance and encouragement. Big Buddies are responsible, caring individuals who are committed to making a difference in the life of a child. They are a friend, positive role model, nurturer of possibilities and advocate for their Little Buddy. They take initiative to set up meetings with their Little Buddies and provide new opportunities for them to improve their outlook on life.
