About Kaitlin Rightler
I want to share my love of music with everyone around me. My goal is to give my students the tools to explore their instrument and music to their fullest ability. Music is not merely notes on a page; it is how we tell a story, evoke emotion and connect with each other. As a teacher, my first priority is to build relationships with students and to build community between students. Having a connection with each student helps to create a foundation of trust in which a student feels supported in the process of learning new music. In an ensemble setting, I create an inclusive environment where every student feels a sense of belonging, regardless of background or musical ability. In an orchestra with a strong sense of community, strong peer relationships are created through shared musical experiences. Within these relationships, students build collaboration skills, leadership skills and social skills which will serve them for the rest of their lives.
