About Kaitlyn Acker

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Acker, and I am a Senior Psychology Student with a double minor in Human Development & Family Studies and Health Professions at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. I am the Group Fitness Supervisor at TTU Recreation Center where I oversee a team of 30+ instructors as well as teach group fitness classes, personally train clients, and take on administrative work. Outside of school and work, you can find me hanging out with friends, leading a community group at my local church, and teaching restorative barre/Yoga classes at a beautiful fitness studio in Lubbock! After receiving my Bachelor's Degree, I will move back to my hometown in the DFW area and begin an online graduate program through Abilene Christian University in Marriage & Family Therapy. My main passions in life are faith, family, and helping others, so I could not be more excited to begin this program and take the next step to becoming a therapist! An experience that fueled my passion for social services even further was a year-long internship I recently completed with Family Guidance & Outreach Center. There, I facilitated online parenting classes to educate our community and fight for a world without child abuse or neglect. Throughout these education, work, and volunteer opportunities, I have found a love for the fitness industry, social services, and management. I am grateful for each experience in these areas that has led me to where I am today, and I look forward to what my future holds. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to connect!
