About Kaitlyn Ayers

Hi there! I’m an aspiring public history professional with a deep love for community, storytelling, and using data to make a real difference. I grew up in South Carolina and now live in Charlotte, but my heart will always be tied to the people and places that shaped me. I’m passionate about giving back and working toward a stronger, more connected South Carolina. Right now, I’m a Senior Research Fellow at the Arras Foundation, where I lead research projects, mentor interns, help shape strategy, and support both internal and external events. I spend my days collaborating with amazing community partners, digging into data, and helping tell stories that matter. My work focuses on everything from local philanthropy trends to mapping out community needs—all with the goal of driving impact. I’ve got a background in history and Native American studies, and I’m currently working on my Master’s in Public History. I love blending research with people-focused work, and I’m especially energized by projects that highlight underrepresented voices, encourage collaboration, and inspire long-term change.
