About Kaitlyn Egan

I am a graduate student at Westfield State University enrolled in the 4+1 master's program in Criminal Justice. I graduated from WSU with degrees in Criminal Justice and English, and a minor in Sociology. I was named Valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA, and served as the Class of 2024 President for all four years. I was an active member of the Honors Program, a Student Government Association Senator, a Campus Tour Guide, and a member of the Women's Golf Team. I was a member of the Criminal Justice, English, and Athletics Honor Societies as well as the Lambda Sigma National Sophomore Honor Society. I have had my work published in the Campus Newspaper, The Voice, my poetry published in the Westfield State Literary Journal, Persona, and I have experience in undergraduate research, most notably a Senior Honors Project that examined federal policy surrounding jury selection. I am interested in a wide array of subjects and possess an eagerness to learn. Further, I am dedicated to the promotion of social justice and equity based policy in the Criminal Justice System, and aspire to find an occupation that will allow me to contribute to the betterment of our society as a whole.
