About Kaitlyn Richardson

At the end of the day, what matters most to me is doing something I love. Growing up I always identified as a creative person & being able to use that skill is what drives my passion. Over the last few years I have been able to channel that passion into my career in retail & sales. I started my working career as a food server & that taught me most of my valuable skills that I will continue to use throughout my career. My adaptability, time management, multitasking and attention to detail all stemmed from there. This job also taught me the importance of customer service & how to drive sales. Although my time as a server taught me many values, I knew it was not my forever career. Which led to the beginning of my journey as a stylist. As a stylist, I was able to fine tune my customer service skills & attention to detail. This journey introduced me to the world of retail. The salon I was a stylist at had a boutique within in. Where I had my first taste of visual merchandising. At the time, I didn’t even knew it had a name. I just knew I enjoyed rotating products in a way to make them aesthetically pleasing & make them sell! Before I knew it, I was ready to take this passion & run with. I started my full career into fashion retail. I started as a sales advisor where I learned how to style people on a daily basis. Seeing customers excited about what I could pair together for them ignited a new spark for me. From here on I learned about visual merchandising. I worked under my team to learn the basics of it. I studied it independently to learn new techniques & new ways of working. After less than a year in retail, I was promoted to visual merchandiser. Which I have absolutely loved. This position has allowed me to drive sales, be creative, be a leader & most importantly, do what brings me joy. I hope to further drive this passion by continuing my career in sales while also allowing myself to be creative as well.
