Background

About Kaitlyn Wakelee

I am a dedicated, hardworking, and passionate undergraduate student at State University of New York at Fredonia. I will graduate in May 2022 with a Bachelors of Science in Media Management with minors in English and History. To further my career I plan to attend SUNY Buffalo to get my masters in Information and Library Science with the ultimate goal of making information more accessible. During my masters I am searching for a library practicum to fulfill graduate requirements and gain more field experience. I began working in Reed Library Fall of 2020 and within less than a year I was offered a promotion to student supervisor. In addition I was also personally asked to intern during the summer of 2021 in Reed Library's archives and in Fall of 2021 I was asked to work reference as well. I have already been trained at the basic level for many different facets of the library including archives, special collections, reference, circulation, and other leadership roles. I learn quickly and I am very adaptable. I am not afraid of asking questions when I need help or helping others when they have questions. I have worked extremely hard to attain the resources I have and I feel very grateful for the guidance I have been given throughout my experiences with different aspects of librarianship. I am confident that combining my driven nature with the knowledge I already have will put me on path towards a successful and fulfilling career in librarianship.
