Background

About Kaitlyn Weaver

I am a senior at the University of Florida pursuing a dual degree in family, youth, and community sciences and psychology of behavioral analysis. While growing up my father was in the Air Force but I spent most of my childhood in Panama City, Florida. I chose the University of Florida due to its competitive academics and involvement in the surrounding community. Both in high school and college, I have made sure to immerse myself in advocating for and serving the community around me. Through this volunteer work, I have been able to form connections with other students who have similar academic and professional goals. My volunteer experience varies from work in the school system, non-profits, and in hospital settings. Due to this, I have acquired unique experiences that help to increase the diversity of any team I am a part of. While I spend the majority of my free time volunteering, I make sure not to let my education fall to the wayside. Since arriving at the University of Florida, I have continued to increase the rigor of my classload. These classes have shaped my passions and allowed me other opportunities outside of the classroom. I am detail-oriented and an agent of change. I am an asset to any team I am a part of and plan to continue working to cause a greater change in my community.
