About Kala Brown

Kala is a recent graduate from Central Washington University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a minor in mathematics. She is currently working as a Product Engineer at Pexco Aerospace. Kala’s previous experience includes working on research funded by SOLVER (Sustainability for Our Livlihood, Values, Environment and Resources) and NASA Washington Space Grant, which involved designing and manufacturing a pressure valve for high altitude balloons. She has also worked as a community support specialist, caring for mentally disabled adults at Kittitas Interactive Management and a floor supervisor at Snokist fruit cannery. While in school, Kala was an active member at Central, where she was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honors Society, the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honors Society, and a SOLVER scholar. She frequently volunteers in the community, while continuing to work towards her goals and advance in her field. Kala is a detail-oriented problem solver, a curious life-long learner, a creative thinker who is highly motivated to achieve her goals and she embraces new experiences with a cooperative attitude.
