About Kala Mitcham

I am a fourth year pre-med student at CWRU in the process of obtaining a B.A. in Biology and an M.A. in Bioethics and Medical Humanities. Outside of my undergraduate education, I work as a Patient Care Nurse Assistant at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in the NICU step down. I also volunteer as a research assistant with the Rajagopalan Lab at the Cardiology Research Institute at CWRU School of Medicine. Two of my greatest passions are kids and preventive care, so I founded an organization called Preventive Medicine for Kids that connects with local schools in Cleveland to empower kids to advocate for their health and wellness. In the future, I hope to obtain an M.D. and specialize in pediatric cardiology. I also hope to have an impact in the field of pediatric ethics, particularly for children in the foster care and adoption systems.
