About Kaleigh Obrien

Hello all! My name is Kaleigh, I've lived in and around Chicago for my entire life and graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2022 with a BS and Physics and a minor in German Studies. From there, I spent the next year in Germany with the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program, which radically changed my ideas for a life plan. I've discovered via activism abroad and work during my job as a project manager and translator that clean energy is more than just a conceptual next step in the climate crisis to me. It's something that I wanted to actively help bring into the wider energy market and to encourage those on the consumer level to see as an approachable step towards reducing their carbon footprint. Due to my technical knowledge, I can both understand and communicate the barriers present where they may be unclear. More broadly, I am very passionate about expanding and incentivizing access to clean energy technologies, as opposed to innovating those technologies myself. I have a plethora of experience in research, both in the humanities and in the hard sciences, as well as experience in data analysis. My strongest programming language is Python, but I am a quick learner and very motivated to become good at what I do (it's the competitive streak). Currently, I'm looking for jobs in EPC management and policy research in the clean energy sector, be that public or private. It's where I believe I can best put my skills to use in light of our current climate crisis. When not at work, you can find me reading, cooking/baking for my family and friends, or playing piano.
