About Kali Basman

I’m a bridge-builder between the ancient and the emergent—where somatic intelligence meets strategy, and inner transformation ripples outward into collective change. As the founder of Kali Durga Yoga, I’ve spent over a decade guiding others through the terrain of embodiment, mindfulness, and psycho-spiritual healing. My work interweaves Yin Yoga, Zen Buddhism, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Traditional Chinese Medicine into immersive trainings, retreats, and therapeutic experiences held across the globe. But my path has never followed a single thread. With dual master’s degrees in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Therapy (Naropa University) and Environmental Public Health (UCLA), I’ve also led strategic marketing, communications, and development efforts for NGOs, international organizations, and public health initiatives—from the United Nations to grassroots community health programs in West Africa. Most recently, I directed a $5M capital campaign for a sacred land sanctuary in Boulder, weaving story, spirit, and stewardship into a compelling call to action. Whether I’m leading a grief immersion, consulting on brand narrative, or crafting a yoga sequence that touches the subtle body, my work is about awakening elegance—within and around us.
