About Kallina Crompton

Since I was a child, I have stood by the philosophy to always leave a place better than it was found. This may explain why I am notorious among my roommates for cleaning the bathroom spotless:) After spending the last two years working and going to college, I managed to graduate a year early at the top of my class with a 3.85. I have a background in quantitative disciplines including STATA and am currently seeking an opportunity to expand my critical and analytical thinking skills. As an intern for a media outlet based in Washington, D.C. last summer, I gained exposure to the various facets of government and developed time management skills. In that capacity, I had the responsibility to write and edit my own news articles and reported on Congressional hearings, campaign rallies, protests, and think tank conferences. After setting weekly goals, I left the internship having published the most articles of any intern. I also spent two years in college as a teacher's assistant for a general course that included basic economics, political science, and history. My favorite part of the job was finding better ways to explain difficult concepts for the students. The experience I gained mentoring other TA's and working with students helped me realize the importance of teamwork in order to achieve greater success. I thrive on knowing that every day we can improve and that it is okay to make mistakes as long as we learn and grow from them.
