About Kamara Jones

My interests within biomedical engineering are regenerative medicine, drug delivery systems, and studying disease models and mechanisms. I have three years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry where I performed research and development work at Fleet Laboratories, as well as release testing for various vaccine products at Merck. I am currently seeking to return to the pharmaceutical industry so that I may continue to pursue my passion of helping prevent and cure disease through research. During my undergraduate tenure I held a supervisory position in the restaurant industry for over 5 years during which aided in the development of my leadership and time management skills. As a graduate research assistant at ECU I continued to hone my leadership skills through my mentorship of several teams of undergraduate students. In my spare time I also volunteered as a peer tutor and a tour guide for potential engineering students. Outside of school and work I enjoy going to the beach, hiking, working out, and watching college basketball (Go Blue Devils!).
