About Kane Pappas

Kane is a Senior Lecturer in the International School of Hospitality, Sports, and Tourism Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). Her areas of teaching include domestic and international tourism, club management, sanitation and food safety, and professional development courses. Kane has worked with local tourism organizations and destination marketing organizations in partnership with FDU. She is the faculty advisor for the Club Management Association of America (CMAA) Student Chapter and Hospitality Society. The Fairleigh Dickinson University CMAA Student Chapter was named Student Chapter of the Year twice by the Club Management Association of America under Kane’s advisement. Through her work with CMAA and Hospitality Society, she organizes professional site visits and other experiential learning activities for university students. Kane is a co-founder of FDU’s Hospitality and Tourism Alumni Chapter. The FDU hospitality program is one of the oldest in the United States. Prior to becoming a professor at FDU, Kane was a Food Service Director with Aramark. Her experience includes managing food service operations at The Juilliard School, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Drew University, The PNC Bank Arts Center, Giants Stadium, and the Meadowlands Racetrack. Classic cars and motorsports have always been fundamental in Kane’s life. She grew up attending auto races because her family raced locally in the in the New York Metropolitan area. Kane is a member of the Pocono Raceway Fan Council and is an avid NASCAR fan. She has a passion for motorsports and automobile heritage tourism. Her interests include stock car racing, classic car shows, 80’s and 90’s “rad” cars, and automotive experience events. Her enthusiasm for automobile heritage tourism includes traveling with her family to auto races and car shows along the east coast to experience cultural tourism and witnessing the economic impact on the localities and regions that host the events.
