About Kanika Kumar

I’m Kanika, the Founder of Minds that Matter, an initiative to raise awareness on social media platforms on the topic of inclusion and special education. I am an experienced and RCI certified Special Education Teacher with a demonstrated history of 10 years of experience working in the education management industry. I have experience teaching a diverse group of children aged 4-21 years old, including those with Learning Disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. I have effectively set-up and led my Department for 5 years at Pathways School Gurgaon. I am skilled in Individual Assessment, Classroom Management, IEP, Multi-sensory Lesson Planning, and Educational Technology. I am trained in REBT, Play Therapy, Brain Gym and the LWT curriculum. I am a certified Google and Microsoft Innovative Educator, incorporating technology in the teaching of my lessons. Being a compassionate and multi-skilled educator, I am well versed with the knowledge of conducting workshops for a group of students, parents, teachers and other professionals. I have also been certified in TESOL and been teaching English language skills to special needs children in Gujarat. Most recently, I have trained to become a career counsellor and a menstrual educator, conducting online workshops to spread awareness amongst marginalized groups of adolescents and young adults.
